Detailed Product Description
The soybean or soya bean is a species of legume native to Eastern Asia. It is an annual plant that may vary in growth, habit, and height. It may grow prostrate, not growing higher than twenty cm (seven point eight inches), or even stiffly erect up to two meters (six point five feet) in height. The pods, stems, and leaves are covered with fine brown or gray pubescence. The leaves are trifoliate (sometimes with five leaflets), and the leaflets are sixt to fifteen cm (two to six inches) long and two to sevencm (one to three inches) broad. The leaves fall before the seeds are mature. The small, inconspicuous, self-fertile flowers are borne in the axil of the leaf and are white, pink or purple. The fruit is a hairy pod that grows in clusters of three to five, with each pod three to eight cm (one to three inches) long and usually containing two to four (rarely more) seeds five to eleven mm in diameter.
